SUN finally rises in TATA's SKY!

Much to the joy of many of our readers from the South of our Great Land the 20 channels of the SUN Network will finally be available on TATASKY! Going by the huge demand for this to happen since over a year, the deal is now a reality. Ever since the advent of Direct to Home (DTH) television in India, like children in a kindergarten our DTH providers  have been fighting over who shows what pulling channels at a whim and then sometimes restoring them when the class monitor by the name of TDSAT cracked his whip. Much to the dismay of their helpless subscribers the last year or so, has to put it mildly, been rather chaotic. This one positive development will now help subscribers and TATASKY to make inroads into its mostly untapped Southern Indian market, giving it the much needed Pan-Indian headstart against the next kid on the block - Reliance Blue Magic. So is this a win win situation for both SUN and TATASKY? That depends really as to what is the extent of concessions each one has made to get this arrive at this agreement and how sustainable those comprises are. For the sake of our fellow viewers we do hope this deal sticks. Obviously any agreement is a plus and should work well for the two entities. The only rider being that the past year has proved to us that DTH industry in India is rife with infighting and immaturity. Let us hope that the future holds the opposite and we are not subject to any more obscene displays of delinquency by our nascent DTH operators.
