don't buy dish tv

I treated this as a good opportunity as to caution people who are about to buy Dish TV, I had a very bad experience. I am from Chennai, South INDIA


I read a ad in local news paper and decided to buy dish tv package which costs me 2950+200 with 8months subscription free. the dealer asked me to pay whole amount. I paid it and gave my address and he immediately confirmed it. he confirmed that the very next day the installation will be over and there is nothing to pay extra. I took the receiver alone with me to home. The next day a technician arrived at home and he came with a dish and was about to start the installation. Before that he asked us to pay 250Rs. as installation charge + price for the dish antenna. We were shocked. I told him that I paid the installation charge at the time of purchase itself and showed him the bill. He was not convinced with that and he said in order to install it and activate the connection I have to pay 250+dish cost+additional wires. I called the dealer, the dealer didn't picked up the phone and so I have gone to the shop itself and I was shocked to see the shop was closed for lunch for 4 hours and will be open only by 6pm. Some how I got the dealer cell no 98408 70408, and dialed to him he didn't attend the call, he knows my contact no already, so I dialed from a local phone, to my surprise he picked up the call immediately. He said he didn't see any missed calls which were about to 10. I explained him the situation. By the meantime in my house the guys told me that they will complete lunch and come back. They didn't come after that. The dealer said he will checkout and get back to me. the dealer didn't call me after that. I called him back and its already 4pm, the dealer spoke recklessly and he asked me to pay 225rs installation charge. I told him that I bought the package from him and its his responsibility to make sure the activation process is smooth. He said he will do his level best and its mandatory I have to wait till the process is over. I was totally dissatisfied.

I called the customer care for dish tv, this is even bad than the dealer, the customer care guys are really lethargic and they show no care, one guy turned up and said I have to pay all the charges if the connection needs to be activated, including the taxes for installation. i asked him the installation is a labour charge for which if there is any tax for that and I asked him to give a receipt for that. the customer rep is really doesnt bothered about me and simply disconnects the call.

Till now its not activated and im waiting for them. now as i had paid them for the package, I don't want to lose my money and I agreed them to pay what ever be the cost. all my attempts ended in vain, I have made 30 calls totally to resolve this dispute and its now a waste. Honesty is what we can see only in dictionary and they never had this. Customer rights are never treated and like this the company cheated people.

If we did not recharge more than 90days, then they are collecting the setup box from us, which we bought. Poor Customer Care. Totally dissatisfied.

I booked online, after one month I cancelled my order because it is not reached my home then I request to online comparedth.com (from where I booked and purchase online and pay my full payment i advance) one guy pick my phone and told to me I will return your 100% money in one week now it is almost 4 month but still I didn't get my money and my dth

friends pls do not buy any product from comparedth.com they are just taking your money I feel like that from my experience.

my Dish T.V consumer I.d. is 01516521734 T.V. is a worst service provider. U never know whenever they get chance they will increase your monthly subscription charge. Dish T.V.is new era's thief.

Lot of offers for paying subscriptions

Cons
Poor customer care. They were only comfortable with Hindhu. South India service is very poor.

Overall it is very average DTH.

DISH TV IS BAD FOR YOU NEW

DISH TV SERVICE IS JUST HORRIBLE.
FOR ALMOST A MONTH I AM NOT GETTING PROPER TRANSMMISSTION AND FURTHER MORE DISH TV UNILATERALY STOPS (BLOCKS) CHANEELS.
THE STOPPED CHANNELS ARE REACTIVATED ONLY WHEN YOU SEND SMS (MIND YOU THESE SMS ARE CHARGED FORM YOUR ACCOUNT).
TO BE PRECISE LAST MONTH I HAVE SEND 98 SMS TO DISHTV.
I AM FED UP OF SENDING THESE MESSAGES AND OVER AND ABOVE CALLING TO DISH TV HELP LINE IS PAIN IN ***.
THEY HAVE JUST RUDICULOUSLY CONFUSED STAFF AT THEIR CENTRE WITH VERY NOISY SURROUNDING (NOTHING WILL BE AUDIBLE TO YOU )

PLEASE DONOT GO FOR DISHTV

I am so worried by Dish Tv service. My VC No is 01517180747. My dish tv set box created problem always so I take insurance on dated 30/1/14 on the assurance of ur mechanic. He provide me no 9212369342 for any problem but this no always show switch off. Ur grievance cell no 011 66088402 is not allotted to anyone. Customer care no takes minimum 20 min to connect to customers representive means lots of our mobile balance deduction i.e. DISH TV is Totally Rubbish and Annoying and worst service provider in India. They have no toll free no. Their packs are so expensive. On recharge of Rs 250 they give me 27 days connection while super family pack cost Rs 200 for a month. This arise a ? Should we be a customer of such WORST SERVICE PROVIDER?

I also bought distv in year 2006. I got one year fee channels. But in between if my signals disturbs due to movemnet of air the dealer charges every Rs. 200 per visit. anyways I paid it. On that time there was a scheme that after 5 yrs If a returned the set top box, they refund Rs. 2500. when my one year completed all fee channles were not coming into my setbox. I called up to customer care and talked to him that they must continue atleast free channels accordingly said by dealer. But they said there will be no fee channels provided to the customers without any charges. You have to pay Rs. 125 per month. I issued a check of yearly payment scheme but dealer didn't collect the cheque and said they send it to the distv office. They only west my time and money. Now my set top box is in stocked and I am using another local set top box and happy to see all the fee channels without any cost.

i buy dish tv lmb Rs.500 dish tv customer care told free of installation cost but erode dish tv technician installation charge 170 i asked dish tv installation free of cost, he told me dish tv customer care came and installation no free of cost 8 month subscription charge Rs.1100 + lmb cost Rs.500 but now installation 170 how many money spent this dish tv very low responsible more complaint no action still date

Dont see the package see the service after sales

Dear Customer,

This is my very honest and sincerely unbiased opinion. After I installing Dishtv it has become a real pain in my neck.

Reason 1 : The call centre whom you call are very irresponsible. Dishtv claims they will call back but they earn at the cost of our SMSs. their call centre personnels are not technically sound and they give any wierd soloutions or answers without even knowing that now the customers are more technically sound and educated.

I have already paid one year subsription but I dont want the pain to be carried any further hence I have switched to another user.

I would suggest make a proper study and then go for the service provider.

I complained to customer care. for dish TV there are different guys, one will be dealer, one will be STB distributor and one will be providing dish and installation. in Tamilnadu, not only by me, the whole network is a scrap and everybody is firing. There is a wordly clash between all the three and seems no one came for conclusion. finally a top brass from dish tv intervened the matter and go for activation with myself paying few more bucks.

Dear Friend,
First that might be the case with you, as i am using dishtv for more than two years and till now havn't face or listen such type of problem.

Its completely a fault from dealer side because after your full payment they can not ask for any other installation charges as installation charges are already included in the payment you made initially, and if this is the case, i would suggest you to register a complaint against your dealer at dishtv customer care and hope your problem will be resolved soon.
