I finally got a Dish TV installed at my home in chennai.
The service guy came and installed the Dish TV at 12 PM.
One thing that I was not aware of was after installation, Dish TV service person tells that it will take another 12 hours for your package to get activated.
This was a total surprise. When I asked him that this was not mentioned anywhere, he said "It is a part of the process that is followed at Dish TV and it will not be mentioned any where...."
Finally I had nothing to do but for waiting for 12 hours.
It was mid night 12 AM, I switched on ym television to see if all channels were activated. Nothing seemed to have happened.
I was disappointed and with low energy levels, I went and slept.
The next day at 9 am I again checked, if the package was activated. Even after 21 hours of installation, it was not activated. I called the customer service number and asked them if my new connection will be activated or not. He was asking me to fax a prrof of installation document, which I do not have. He asked me to contact the retailer where I bought the new connection.
Then I called the service guy who installed the dish tv. He said it will be activated in 24 hours in general and not 12 hours.
This was again a surprise/ shock as I thought I had to wait for another 24 hours.
But the package got activated by 2 pm.
I had all the channels that I wanted. So finally I was happy despite all the delays.
Yesterday I started facing a new unique issue. Not sure if that is a universal problem,
every now and then I got an error: 201 Card Refresh error.
Is this a common error?
Did I take a right decision by going for Dish TV?
